Hairstyles for Short Hair Lengths

By Sarah Freeland Short hair styles are flattering on lots of people. Short haircuts range from buzz cuts to bob haircuts. To select the short cut that is right for you, you will need to look at several options before selecting a style that you like. The first step to selecting a short hair style is to look through magazines and hair cut books. You will want to look for a model or actress that has a face shape that is similar to yours. This will help you to decide if their short hair cut will look good on you. The next step is to talk to your hairstylist to get their opinion on what short cuts will work best with your bone structure. They may be able to steer you clear of haircut disasters. They may also have software that can modify your picture to show you what you would actually look like with a specific haircut. After selecting a style of hair cut that you want you will also need to decide how short you want to go. Very short haircuts are great if you dont have a lot of time to fuss with your hair in the morning, however, if you are used to longer hair a very short haircut may be too much of a change to handle. If you dont want to go ultra short you can select from a number of short trendy hairstyles. These hairstyles are usually introduced or made popular by celebrities and fashion icons. Lobster Recipes

By Steve Valentino Lobsters are a seafood delicacy and are considered quite easy to cook. While they can be boiled or grilled, they are also delicious when just broiled or steamed. For cooking them, you need to get hold of a large stockpot and some good recipes to turn out exotic lobster dishes! First you must ensure that you get a good quality lobster, preferably live. Then cook within prescribed time limits according to the weight of the lobster. For example, if boiling a lobster, it is recommended to boil it for 10 minutes for the first pound weight and 3 minutes each for subsequent pounds. So a 2-pound lobster needs to be boiled for 13 minutes. Cooking a lobster longer than the recommended times can make the meat too tough to eat. But when properly cooked, lobster meat is a creamy white and shells are bright red. There are many ways to prepare and garnish this seafood and one can get easily confused as to which recipe to pick up first. It is better to start with an easy recipe first and slowly go on to try a little complicated lobster dishes. There is a lot of variety that can be churned out using lobsters, like lobster bisque, sauce, bakes, rolls, salads and stews. They can be made in American, Italian or Chinese flavors, depending on your taste. Some of the well known recipes of lobsters include chopped vegetable and lobster salad, grilled lobster with barbecue mayonnaise, lobster club sandwich, lobster pizza, lobster and white bean salad, lobster tails with Thai curry, hot and sour soup with lobster dumplings, lobster with coconut, corn and lemongrass. Whatever recipe you select, you can surely get succulent and delicious dish of lobsters. It is very important to present the prepared lobster dish properly since the lobster is not the Adonis of the ocean. So its appearance should be made attractive and appealing enough to relish the dish and get the praise it deserves. To prepare lobster, you can get hold of a good lobster recipe book or search on the Internet to find numerous savoring recipes of lobsters! How Many Jesus' Are in the Bible

By El Veasey Before we get to the meat of the conversation, first a little meaningful foreplay... Do you think that when Jesus said, unless you drink my blood and eat my flesh you have no life in you, he meant his actual flesh and blood? When a certain Zen master told one of his disciples who understood a certain part of his teachings, "You have my flesh"; and to another, who understood a different part, "You have my bones". That all that remained of him was his blood splattering in the air as he stood before them talking? Jesus and the Zen master were both speaking symbolically (using literal sensory objects to illustrate spiritual processes). Eating Jesus flesh means understanding the basic aspects of his teachings. Drinking his blood means understanding the more subtle advanced parts of his teachings. You have no life in you means you have no spiritual understanding in you. The people he was speaking to were obviously alive so is he talking about literal life when he says "you have no life in you"?. But literal minded people are so conditioned to taking everything literally they think hes talking about actually eating his physical body and drinking his physical blood! (As if when someone says, "I had to go all the way to bum f*#*ck Egypt", bum f*#*ck Egypt was mistaken to be a literal place! Or a spiritual path was mistaken to be an actual path through the woods!). Literal minded people are so fixated on the literal meaning they can't see the spiritual meaning! If they do catch a glimpse of something spiritual they see it as something that doesnt matter because they see matter as the only thing that matters. So if its not matter, to them, it doesnt matter! At the beginning of Christianity there was an on going conflict between the spiritual-minded Christians (later called heretic Christians) and the literal-minded Christians (later called Orthodox Christians). The Roman Dictator Constantine and newly converted Greco-Roman priests, at the 1st council of Nicea, (in what is now modern day Turkey) created Roman Christianity in the 4th century AD. Constantine convened the council because; the various Christians groups had contradictory beliefs about the nature of God and Jesus and were fighting and killing each other over! This situation was destabilizing portions of Constantines empire, so he ordered all the Christian clergy throughout the empire to attend this meeting so they could try to create some type of standard doctrine that they all could agree on: uniting the feuding factions and stopping the instability and bloodshed. The spiritual-minded Christians held the doctrine that Christ was a spirit and was only operating through the body of Jesus and that although Jesus body could die, Christ, the spirit couldnt die (sounds reasonable to me). The literal-minded Christians, were exclusively focused on the man, Jesus, his death and the resurrection of his dead body as proof that he was the only begotten Son of God or as some thought, God in the flesh! The spiritual-minded Christians said Jesus wasnt of the same substance as God (the Father, the source) because he was created after God, while the literal-minded Christians said he was. A vote was taken on which doctrine would be the accepted one. The Spiritual-minded Christians were out voted by the literal-minded Christians and were banished from the proceedings and branded heretics because they wouldnt accept the doctrine of Jesus, the physical man, as Christ (Spirit) or the resurrection of his physical body from the dead. Catholic was chosen for this new brand of Roman Christianity because it meant universal or pertaining to all. There was to be only one God, one Son of God, one church, one doctrine and one creed as there was to be only one Emperor for all the citizens of the Roman Empire. This was the origin of the 1st Orthodox Church of Christianity: the Roman Catholic Church As I said the spiritual-minded Christians (lumped together under the name "Gnostics" and "Heretics") were focused on the spiritual identity of Jesus, called Christ while the literal-minded Christians were focused on the physical identity of Christ, called Jesus Christ. As if Christ was Jesus' last name when its really a title translated from the Greek, Christos, from the Hebrew, Messiah, meaning anointed (Websters Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary). So his name would be Jesus the Christ, or the anointed, not Jesus Christ (anointed). The name Jesus is translated from the Greek, Iesous, from the Hebrew, Yeshua or Yehoshua, or in English Joshua (Websters Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary). Further confirmation that Jesus' real name was Yeshua, the name that the public and most Christians aren't aware of, resides in an article in the New York Times 10-22-2002 edition about a recent archeological find archeologists were trying to link to Jesus. They discovered a burial box with the Aramaic phrase "James (Ya' Akov), son of Joseph (Yosef), brother of Jesus (Yeshua)" inscribed on it. (I think the box was later prove to be a fake) Note Jesus' real name Yeshua as its translated from the Aramaic inscription into English on the box. So you see his real name wasnt Jesus but Yeshua (for all of you Christians who think that Jesus is the only name you can be saved by). Since he was the son of Joseph (Yosef) he would have been referred to as Yeshua Bar Yosef or Ben Yosef (Bar and Ben meaning, son or heir in Hebrew). In English his name should be Joshua not Jesus (Jesus = Joshua) Strong's Bible Lexicon. So why did Christian scholars translate his name as Jesus rather than as Joshua as they did Joshua the son of Nun in the Old Testament whose name is also Jesus? Was it because in the Septuagint (the original Greek bible or Old Testament, translated from Hebrew around the 3 BC) Joshua's name is translated as Jesus? Could it be because there were other Jesus' in the Bible, most notably, Joshua the son of Nun, who inherited the leadership of Israel from Moses? Is it because in an effort to make Jesus and his name unique (the only name you can be saved by) they didnt want people to know that his name or maybe even he wasnt really that unique? (The only begotten Son of God) Here is the meaning of the name Joshua the son of Nun in Strong's Bible Lexicon, "Joshua = Jehovah is his help, or Jehovah the Savior (or God in the flesh, El-Veasey). The son of Nun, of the tribe of Ephraim, the successor of Moses as the leader of Israel. He is called Jehoshua in Num. 13:16 (A.V.) and Jesus in Acts 7:45 and Heb. 4:8 (R.V. Joshua)". "The meaning of Nun = "fish" or "posterity" 1) father of Joshua the successor of Moses". The fish was also the symbol of Jesus and the early Christians. So was Joshua the original Hebrew messiah? Some scholars think so! See "The Cult of Joshua, Christianity Revealed" by Dr. M D Magee
http://www.askwhy.co.uk/christianity/0190JoshuaCult.html#The%20Pre-Christian%20Joshua%20Cult Here's a list of the various names and persons that mean Jesus in the Bible according to Strong's Bible Lexicon. Jesus (Joshua) 2, Jesus (Justus) 1; 975 Jesus = "Jehovah is salvation" Jesus, the Son of God, the Savior of mankind, God incarnate. 1) Jesus Barabbas was the captive robber whom the Jews begged Pilate to release instead of Christ. 2) Joshua was the famous captain of the Israelites, Moses' successor (Ac. 7:45, Heb. 4:8). 3) Jesus, son of Eliezer, one of the ancestors of Christ (Luke. 3:29). 4) Jesus surnamed Justus, a Jewish Christian, an associated with Paul in the preaching of the gospel (Col. 4:11). Take special note of Jesus # 2 Jesus Barabbas and the meaning of Barabbas: Bar means son and Abba means father. Barabbas i.e., son of a father or the father. The notorious robber whom Pilate proposed to condemn to death instead of Jesus, whom he wished to release, in accordance with the Roman custom (John 18:40; Mark 15:7; Luke 23:19). But the Jews were so bent on the death of Jesus that they demanded that Barabbas should be pardoned (Matt. 27:16-26; Acts 3:14). This Pilate did (Easton's Bible Dictionary). Note that Barabbas's first name is left out in these stories. Was it left out on purpose? Jesus was referred to as "the son of the father" but the meaning of Barabbas shows that there were two "Jesus' sons of the father" on trial in the Gospel story! So how can we be sure which one was the "real" Jesus, when the translators left out the fact that Barabbas' first name was also Jesus? It seems that Yeshua was only translated as Jesus when it was referring to the Jesus the writers wanted us to believe was Jesus, preventing us from seeing that there was more then one person named "Jesus", or referred to as "the son of the father" on trial in that story. Is that why Barabbas' first name was omitted from the story? For more on Jesus Barabbas (See "The Mystery of Barabbas" 1993 Dr. M.D. Magee http://www.askwhy.co.uk/christianity/0480Barabbas.html). We should have figured out by the Gospel writers repeated emphasis that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, that there must have been others called the Son of God or there would have been no need for that emphasis! There was the Greek, Hercules, who had an earthly mother and the God, Zeus for a heavenly father, or the Egyptian Pharaohs, who were actually considered to be Gods, because they were sons of Gods or the ancient Emperors of China who were called the sons of heaven (God). But check out this spotlight that the gospel of Luke shines on who the original Son of God was while giving Jesus supposed genealogy: Luke 3:38 "Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the Son of God"! Adam was the son of God? Holy Moly! Here we have an example of one of the many contradictions between the Old and New Testaments. In the Old Testament Adam is depicted as a creation of God not a Son of God. But in the New Testament gospel of Luke, Adam is depicted as the original Son of God thousands of years before the time of Jesus! But the Genesis text plainly states that God created man not a son! Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (King James Version). But Luke just as plainly states that Adam was the Son of God and chronologically the first Son of God, showing that the writer of Luke didn't view Jesus as the only Son of God! But in an effort to make Jesus (Joshua) appear special or unique, the Roman Christian clergy made Jesus the only begotten Son of God (whatever that means) to make him distinct from other sons of God. But how many ways can a father (even a spiritual father) beget his sons? (Begotten is from Beget. Beget meaning to procreate as the father: Sire: To produce as an effect or outgrowth (Webster Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary). So all sons of God are begotten by their fathers! So God had two sons Adam and Jesus! Interesting! But wait Im not done yet. Check this out! Gen 6:4 "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown". Wow! God had more than one son? More like a few sons! Did you know that? Even more reason for the church fathers to invent the only begotten son slogan. What do you think? And for all you armchair theologians who think that the title "sons of God" means angels. Angel is from the Greek, Angelos, and literally means messenger (Websters Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary) as in "messenger of God", not "son of God" as some of you may have been brainwashed to believe. If angel meant son, that would make Jesus an angel instead of the son of God and your Lord and Savior! The original messenger of the Gods was the ancient Egyptian God of wisdom, Thoth or Tuhuti, who brought the message of wisdom and truth to the people. Hes the original model for the Christian idea of the Holy Spirit. He's also the model for the Greek God Hermes and the Roman God Mercurius, the source of the English word, Mercury. But let's move on. As a matter of fact there were many messiahs (anointed ones) in the Old Testament. All the kings of ancient Israel were messiahs or anointed ones. During their coronation their heads were anointed with oil by the high priest. That's why Jesus was mocked as the "King of the Jews" because the messiah was expected to be a king, like David and Solomon, who would restore the kingdom of Judah to its original glory. Israels first messiah in the sense of a deliverer was the Persian king, Cyrus, who set them free from Babylonian captivity as the messiah was expected to set them free from Roman domination during Jesus' time. The prophet Isaiah even calls Cyrus the anointed (Messiah) of God. Isaiah 45:1 Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut. As I said, the original messiah and the forerunner of Jesus, was Joshua the son of Nun, the successor of Moses, who actually led the children of Israel into the Promised Land of Canaan. This places Moses in the position of the forerunner of the messiah. A pattern adopted by the fathers of early Orthodox Church and applied to John the Baptist and Jesus in a successful attempt to give their fledgling new religious cult historical validity, by connecting it to a more established religion with a long textual history. So you see Jesus wasn't the only Jesus or messiah in the bible! So how many Jesus are in the Bible? Let me leave you with the list of Jesus' to simmer in your minds! 1) Jesus Barabbas the captive robber whom the Jews begged Pilate to release instead of Christ. 2) Joshua the famous captain of the Israelites, Moses' successor (Ac. 7:45, Heb. 4:8). 3) Jesus, son of Eliezer, one of the ancestors of Christ (Luke. 3:29). 4) Jesus surnamed Justus, a Jewish Christian, an associated with Paul in the preaching of the gospel (Col. 4:11). You may find even be more Jesus' than this if you look hard enough! It's so easy to turn a deaf ear and a blind eye to obvious contradictions in our religious conceptions when we accept what weve been conditioned to believe without realistically thinking it through! But We All Deserve Better Than That don't we? May the Light never cease to Lighten your Minds! Composting and Composters: A Basic Introduction

By Mark Falco Why Compost? Recent studies show that an average family throws away approximately 200 pounds of organic kitchen waste every year. Combine this with all the leaves, grass clippings and other organic garden waste accumulated over time and that's a lot of household waste being added to the already mountainous waste disposal problem. Some local authorities are refusing to take away green waste from gardening and others charge for the service in an effort to curb mounting costs and then when you add in the environmental costs of adding new landfill sites, road transport emissions from ferrying all this waste around and potentially incineration and the fumes that releases the environmental advantages of composting are clear. In slightly more selfish terms, if you are a gardener then you will know the relatively high cost of fertiliser. Well, OK an average gardener's yearly fertiliser expenditure is not going to break the bank but when you can get fertiliser for free out of the stuff you throw away then it starts looking extremely expensive. Composting simply makes good environmental and financial sense and it's so easy to do there's nothing stopping you. What Do I Need To Begin? A compost bin, box, enclosure or handy place to put an open compost heap. Cheap plastic composters and compost bins can be bought from all good garden centers and are quite inexpensive depending on your requirements. A plastic compost bin is generally the cheapest whilst wood composters are generally more attractive additions to your garden but a little more costly. An open heap (just create a pile somewhere) is also an option but it is advisable to have some sort of cover like a tarpaulin available for colder periods of weather. Another slightly different alternative to composting in the traditional sense is vermicomposting or wormeries. These use a special kind of worms to break down kitchen scraps producing a fine compost-like material fromtheir casts and a nutrient filled liquid plant food which is ideal for feeding indoor pot plants. If do a lot of greenhouse gardening or have a lot of houseplants then a wormery may be the best choice for the disposal of household waste. If you do not want to actually spend money on a composter then building your own isn't exactly difficult if you do not mind picking up a hammer and nails. Nail together a few wooden pallets for example and you've got an enclosure suitable for composting. For plans and ideas on how to assemble your own composter at little cost, simply head to your favourite search engine and type in phrases like "build your own composter" or "compost bin plans" for an endless supply of simple ideas typically costing under $30. Where To Put Your Compost Whether you purchase a composting bin or make your own composter you need to make sure you have a flat, well drained place in your garden not too far away that you begrudge taking your kitchen scraps out to it. Compost bins should not be placed on concrete, patio areas etc. as you want to allow the insects, worms and microorganisms which help degradation of your waste materials the freedom to migrate into and out of your compost without hinderance. In addition, choose a site which suits your climate. Warmth and moisture helps the composting process so place your composter in a place which receives a fair amount of sunlight and shelter from the wind if you live in a cooler climate and if in a hotter climate, ensure you give it shade to prevent it drying out. What Materials Can You Compost? Pretty much all your organic household and garden waste is an elligible candidate for composting although there are a few exceptions. Things to particularly avoid are meat, fish, bones, fats and oils, dairy products like milk and cheese, dog and cat droppings as these can attract animals, create foul smells as they degrade and carry nasty diseases. Also, whilst weeds and plants can be added, it is advised to dry out persisent weeds and remove seed heads before adding these. Ashes are also best avoided, as are glossy magazines although shredded paper and cardboard are fine to add. Feel free to add waste fruit and vegetables, crushed egg shells, coffee grounds (worms love them!) and tea bags, hair, leaves, grass clippings and other organic waste. As a general rule, if in doubt, leave it out but most organic waste will rot down just fine and if you shred it or cut it up smaller, it will compost faster. How Long Before It Becomes Compost? This depends on the balance of materials in your compost heap, the weather and the amount of time you can devote to the project. If you want to take an active managed approach to your composting then you can have afully composted pile in 3 months but if your only desire is to dispose of kitchen and garden waste in a more 'green' manner then it can take 6 months to a year or longer. Managed composting can produce a 'hot rot' with very fast results but it does require additional effort on your behalf to keep it going. A managed, hot compost heap with an excellent balance of materials can reach temperatures of 70 degree celsius but requires regular turning and nurturing with careful layering and balance of browns and greens in the mix, shredding materials and maintaining a good moisture level. An unmanaged cool heap is however much easier to maintain and rots down at up to 30 degrees celsius with little input from you. Just throwing your waste on the heap will give you a cooler heap which will rot down more slowly but is fine for green waste disposal purposes. There are ways to increase the rate of the composting process in both cases by, for example, adding composting worms, or by using an activator which help speed up the process. The addition of a handful or soil now and then or horse manure will also add micro-organisms to speed up the composting process free of charge. For The Best Compost... ...use a wide variety of different materials. The more varied the materials you add to the compost pile, the nutrient rich your final compost will be. Compost made from kitchen and garden waste is the best food for your plants and at the same time you are helping the environment and saving yourself and your local government money into the bargain. Koi Pond and Waterfall Builders: What You Need to Know

By Douglas Hoover Before installing a water feature you need to ask yourself several important questions first: What is your budget? How much can you spend on the entire project? You could spend $3,000 on a water feature and find out you still need an additional $1,000-1,500 for plants and amenities, such as a deck, gazebo, walkways, fish or
landscape lighting in the pond, waterfall and lawn. Other possible extras are a biological filter, auto-fill for pond, skimmer, back-flushable bio-filter, and more. How big is a water feature? If you are building your own, then structurally size is not that big an issue! I would charge the same price for a 3-foot high waterfall as I would for a 5-foot; the same for a 3 by 5-foot pond as a 4 by 6. There is only a $200 difference in cost between the 1,000 and 2,000 square feet of concrete shell surface. Your main concern about size should be space, not cost. How much of your yard can you sacrifice? Even if the space between your house and the property line fence is limited, a water feature can be incorporated. Small ponds 1 to 3 feet deep can facilitate a sump pump located within the pond. Even though a sump pump is inexpensive, it consumes much more energy than an above-ground pump. A pond any deeper than 3 feet requires an exterior pump for better accessibility and maintenance, and at a higher cost. But they pay for themselves in a short period of time with the energy savings. Also, larger ponds require greater filtration, more cleaning and maintenance. The size of the waterfalls will determine the size of the pump needed. The higher the waterfalls, the bigger the pump needed to supply the water and the greater the cost for electricity. Height creates head pressure which requires more energy and is the major factor in operating cost. How much entertaining will you do? Will you need a deck? If so, how big? You might consider placing a pond next to an existing deck. Many people do just the opposite, they build a pond and then construct a deck beside it. In this case, you can take advantage of an existing deck and construct an open stairway (stair bridge) to
span the pond. This affords unique access to the opposite side. Will you have adequate room for table and chairs? Do you want a spa? Or a fire pit or barbeque? Enough lawn for games? Where do you spend most of your outdoor leisure time? That is the area for your waterfall! The waterfall will bring you the most enjoyment, therefore it should be located closest to the area where you
plan to spend most of your time out of doors. Do you want to see or hear the waterfall from indoors? Consider adding an exterior patio or French doors to your house to access your water feature area. Do you wish to have fish and other aquatic creatures? Long term, a properly maintained nitrogen cycle costs less than maintaining a pond that uses chlorine and other chemicals. Fish, plants and proper bacteria are needed for healthy pond and nitrogen cycle. Once properly established, a healthy fish pond is virtually maintenance free. Are you willing to remove or replace certain trees or bushes to enhance the waterfall and pond? Some trees have very aggressive root systems that can literally move concrete as they grow, causing cracking and upheaval. Certain trees can
contribute a great deal of debris to the water feature that fouls the water and may cause premature failure of the filter system. What type of rock do you want? A commonly used rock is cobble stone. However, because of the round shapes, water rolls over the surfaces and creates a minimum of sound or visual effect. In contrast, irregular, angular, sharp-edged
granite or similar rock creates turbulent conditions similar to white water as it flowsover the edges. The greater the white water the more sound is produced. Also, a side benefit is the aeration of water which benefits fish and discourages the production of algae. However, do not attempt to match the color of rock with the decor of the house, brick and other features of your home. Stay natural contrast is good! What about electrical supply for the pump and equipment? In 20 years I have never seen the electrical costs for supplying power to the equipment site exceed $1,200, and the average is less than $400. What about a water supply for an automatic water leveling system? Water is very accessible in any household and getting it to the water feature site is a minor expense. Simply tap into an outside water faucet. There are hundreds of questions that arise in the course of a water feature project. It is best that most of these questions are answered prior to commencement of construction, it could save you hundreds of dollars by avoiding mistakes. Look before you leap and research before you weep. Happy koi, peace and joy. Douglas C. Add an Outdoor Firepit to Dress Up Your Backyard

By Ian Henman We made the decision that we needed to make some adjustments to our backyard. The backyard is secluded so we enjoy spending time in it. We looked through many landscaping magazines, how ever we weren't able to find a landscaping idea that we wanted to add to our yard. The thought of having to keep up the maintenance with a water piece wasn't appealing. Not to mention mosquitoes and bugs are a plenty in our area, so a pond wasn't a great idea. We went to a home improvement store and started looking through the lawn and garden department. While we were browsing around I noticed that they had a section for outdoor fireplacesincluding a simple ring to create an outdoor fire pit. My husband and i knew that we had found the new addition for our backyard. In past years we had done a lot of camping. Since moving into a rural neighborhood we no longer go camping. One of the things that both of us loved to do was to gaze at the campfire and just talk for hours. We agreed that an outdoor fire pit would re-create those old camping evenings in our own backyard. We are able to get a ton of firewood from the huge woods on the edge of our property, so we wouldn't need to spend any money on firewood. Multiple options for designs were available at the hardware store to select from. There was an outdoor fire pit twhich offered the ability to bbq with the grill on top. Just recently we had bought a bbq gas grill so the fire pit frill option wasn't a need for us. We just wanted to keep it simple. We bought a big fire ring as well as fireproof bricks. our backyard area has a small depression close to the wooded area. We figured this would be a wonderful place to have our outdoor fire pit. The firebricks were positioned in a sqaure shape around the lowered area. Then the fire ring was sat on top of the bircks. By placing the ring on the bricks we were protecting from grass fires and also makes the outdoor fire pit easy to mow around. We also gota couple of park benches to put on either side of the fire ring. We spend a lot of our evenings circled around our outdoor fire pit. The interesting thing is that we assumed the area would provide us a spot to to spending evenings talking. Now don't get me wrong there is lots of talkingthat happens around the fire pit, the majority of it takes place with our neighbors. There is something about the smell of a wood fire which brings neighbors out of their yards and into oursto relax around the fire pit. We are still glad that we decided to purchase the outdoor fire pit it's allowed us to get to know our neighbors much better then if we hadn't. Worried About Layoffs and Offshore?

By Roger Thompson For the past few years we have seen many layoffs and job elimination due to off shoring of jobs. Is there any job that can give some kind of security? There are no jobs now which can give you 100% guarantee nowadays. But you can avoid the lay off and the effects of off shoring by the following:- - Keep a step ahead of the crowd by learning new skills - Make yourself a valuable asset to the employers - Try to get a federal or defense related job since most these kind of jobs are safer from off shoring. - Due to the war in Iraq and the downsizing of the armed forces there are plenty of contract jobs in the private sector doing business with defense forces. Most of the positions require US citizenship which means these kinds of jobs are never off shored. This is a safe bet to start. - Know more about your business; if you have a strong business knowledge it will be hardly outsourced or off shored - Take a moment to think about the job you are doing. Can any one do your job from anywhere? any time restrictions? Lot of interaction? these questions might give a clue about your job situation. The high tech industry and the software industry in particular is vulnerable to offshoring of services. The only way you can avoid is to learn more business about the company and make yourself an important player in the team. There are several web sites that specializes jobs related to federal government and defense contracting jobs. You should check some sites and apply for a job. One of the website I would recommend is http://www.jobsforuscitizens.com Roger Thompson has been in the Human Resource, Contracting industry, online ecommerce for the past 10 years. He has helped many candidates to get employment with both federal government and private companies and advising online shoppers. Information on Printable Wedding Invitations

By Harry Rockwell A wedding invitation is a letter sent to a person, asking the recipient to attend a wedding. They are typically mailed out 6 weeks before the wedding date. Wedding invitations can sometimes have fancy writing on them known as calligraphy. Other types of printing include Engraving, Thermography, Letterpress printing and sometimes Blind Embossing. Most of time, they are mailed in double envelopes. The inner envelope can be lined in a matching color, is not gummed and fits into the outer envelope. The outer envelope is gummed for sealing and addressing. Along with the wedding invitation, the ensemble may also include a respond card or folder and envelope. The respond card or folder is traditionally used for gathering totals for the caterer and getting a general number of guests attending. The recipient is asked to mail back the respond card or folder roughly two weeks before the wedding or by the date indicated. The envelope is pre-addressed and pre-stamped by the wedding party for ease. Other pieces often included in the ensemble are the reception card or folder, map or direction card, and accommodation information. The reception card simply lists the addresses and times of any post-wedding events, such as a cocktail hour, dinner or dance. Map or direction cards provide details about the location of the wedding and reception. The accommodation information gives helpful tips about airfare, transportation or hotel arrangements for out-of-town guests. Local attractions may be featured as well. Often times the accommodation information is sent in advance with the save the dates. A save the date is similar to an invitation and is mailed up to one year before the wedding date. Save the dates simply announce that the wedding date has been set and encourages recipients to plan for the event. It is not used as a a substitute for the wedding invitation and typically mentions that an invitation will follow. Back to School for a Midlife Crisis Career Change

By Cathy Goodwin, Ph.D. Q. I hate my job as a computer consultant. I am ready for a career change. The aptitude tests say I should be a recreation specialist. I like the idea but I dread returning to school for a new degree. A. Before you invest in a degree, try out the new career. A test drive will tell you
more than any pencil-and-paper test. Find two or three people who are doing what
you want to do and ask to spend a day or a week with them. If you like what you see, visit a few schools or universities that offer degrees in your
area of interest. Ask for names of people who have graduated one, three and five
years ago. Ask the alumni, "Did this degree help you get your job? Advance in your job? "Would you have done better with a degree from another school? Or would you have
done as well with a degree from a lower-ranked school?" Don't stop until you have talked to six graduates -- maybe more. Talk to students, not faculty. Professors must support their own programs, even
when they want to say, "You can do better elsewhere," or, "This program is a waste
of your time and money." And these days, anyone with a title like "Admissions Director" or "Enrollment
Management" may be trying to make a sale, not offer objective guidance. Investigate several options. You may find an equally satisfying career that offers on-the-job training. You may
find an educational program that takes less time or comes with a stipend. No degree program offers a magic bullet. Ultimately you may win the job and career success by your power networking as well
as you social, interpersonal and technical skills. There are many paths to career
fulfillment, not just one. This article comes from my ebook: Back to School for Career Change:

The Mean and Nasty Northern Pike

By Richard Chapo Fly fishing on rivers and lakes is often portrayed as a communal zen moment in nature. Seek out the Northern Pike, however, and you are in for anything but a peaceful time. The Pike is undisputedly a creation of some demon figure. It is big, fast, and mean. It is the rare person that would describe the pike as anything but ugly. We are talking hit with the ugly stick more than a few times ugly! Just to top matters off, this demon spawn has teeth that would make a crocodile hesitate. We are talking about the biggest, baddest fish around. The Northern Pike is carnivorous as suggested by the bear trap that acts as a mouth. Essentially, we are talking about the equivalent of sharks from the open oceans although they are often jokingly referred to as a water wolf. Pikes will eat anything from bait to game fish to frogs towell, you get the idea. If it can get to it, consider it bait. Yes, the pike will eat other pikes. The Northern Pike can grow very large. It is difficult to sort rumor from fact, but they can run up to three or four feet in length. Rumors of much bigger pikes abound much like the Yeti, but there has been little evidence they actually exists. The largest one every caught was a 34 pound beast in Nejanilini Lake in Canada. 42 pounders have been reported, but not documented. As with any predator, the Northern Pike is all about stalking. It tends to hunt food by waiting in along shores in areas with coverage such as lilly, weeds, or where shoreline vegetation runs out into the water. This is a daytime hunter. It strikes quickly and viciously, so be prepared to react quickly if you hook one. The Northern Pike is generally not much of a delicacy given a very boney body. That being said, large pikes are a regular food source in areas such as Siberia. In fact, a little known fact is pike fishing in Siberia is some of the best in the world. Of course, Siberia holds many secrets when it comes to fishing, one of the last great unexplored fishing paradises on the planet. Plan a Honeymoon in a Private Villa

By Natalie Aranda When celebrities get married and go on a honeymoon, they most often stay in private villas. You may think this is something that only the fabulously wealth can afford, but that is simply not the case. Spending your honeymoon in a private villa can be more affordable than you think. Like any other accommodations, there is quite a range of prices depending on the size and amenities of the location. Planning a honeymoon in a private villa is often not difficult. This is because most villas offer some sort of package deal where you can get food service, as well as tour guides to take you around the area. Tuscany villas are some of the most beautiful in the world, as they combine beautiful historical architecture with all of the modern amenities. In fact, picking what amenities are important to you is pretty much the hardest decision you will need to make when planning your villa honeymoon. You will be pleasantly surprised at how many amenities are available to you when you stay in a private villa. Villas in Tuscany often feature private pools, historical furnishings, and beautiful views. If you enjoy the outdoors, youll find villas that are located near the water, skiing or golf courses. Of course, the activities will vary depending on where you stay, as Tuscany villa rentals might offer things that villas in another area may not. You will want to decide whether you want maid service and whether you plan to utilize a chef to prepare your meals. Some villas come with kitchens that you can use, while others might just have a fridge or microwave. If you require any accommodations such as handicap access, make sure you call ahead or check with your travel agency to make sure your needs are met. Some villas allow you to bring your pets while others do not. If you are a smoker, youll want to check on the smoking policy of the villa as well. Do you need to get online while you are away? Check into what internet access is available. Once you have an idea of the activities you want to do and the amenities you need, you can start looking at pictures of various villas. Villas vary greatly both in size and in the number of people they will accommodate. For this reason, they are good for private honeymoons as well as housing large families. If you have a destination wedding, you might consider renting a villa for your guests and then a separate one for you and your spouse. Either way, staying in a villa can offer you unmatched privacy and exquisite accommodations in a beautiful setting. It will help provide the perfect start to your new life together.
